The summer program is designed for beginners, amateurs and photography students alike. The various workshops deal with all the major aspects of modern photography: theory and practice, from past to present.<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Students may enroll for the full summer program or choose one or several workshops.<\/p>\n

Black & White Printing – The Stop-System<\/h5>\n
Duration: 15h
\nDates : June\u00a015 \u2013 19, 2015
\nThis workshop presents black & white darkroom techniques, using the Stop System (a visual method invented at Speos) to understand and control the printing process. By the end of the week, each participant will be able to judge the quality of a print and produce good black & white pictures. To follow the workshop, a film camera is indispensable.<\/div>\n

Introduction to Studio Photography<\/h5>\n

\nDates : June 29\u00a0\u2013 July 3, 2015
\nIn this practically-oriented workshop, participants are introduced to the techniques of studio photography: use of studio equipment, electronic flashes, basic studio lighting techniques, large format cameras, as well as the Stop System. The course is based on intensive studio practice.<\/div>\n

Commercial Photography<\/h5>\n

\nDates : July 6\u00a0\u2013 10, 2015
\nThis workshop is open to participants with previous studio experience (for example after the workshop Introduction to Studio). Every day a different commercial studio topic is introduced: basic packshot, metal, glass, culinary, use of different formats, etc.<\/div>\n

Portrait Photography<\/h5>\n
Duration: 15h
\nDates : July\u00a06\u00a0\u2013\u00a010, 2015
\nThis workshop is open to participants with previous studio experience (for example after the workshop Introduction to Studio). By shooting portraits that reflect their own sensitivity, participants aim at developing their self-expression. They learn to optimize shooting parameters such as lighting, lenses, cameras, so as to exploit their creative potential to its best.<\/div>\n

Photojournalism – News<\/h5>\n

\nDates : June\u00a029\u00a0\u2013 July\u00a03, 2015
\nThis workshop presents the main aspects of a news reportage: the photographer as a witness, the picture that tells a story, the information that completes the picture. Current techniques and tools of photojournalists will be discussed as well as how to select and publish reportages, how to contact newspapers\u2019 and magazine publishers. The training includes practical exercises.<\/div>\n

Photojournalism – Documentary<\/h5>\n

\nThis workshop presents the different aspects of a photographic essay: the construction on the long term of a story through pictures \u2013 the protagonists, the context, what is at stake. Current techniques and tools of photojournalists will be discussed as well as how to contact publishers. The training includes practical exercises.<\/div>\n

Visual Identity<\/h5>\n

\nDates : June 22 \u2013 26, 2015
\nThis workshop aims at guiding participants to further develop their own visual awareness and creativity by analyzing pictures by well-established photographers. Moving from the works of others to their own, they elaborate their visual identity from conceptual notions via technical skills to the finalized picture.<\/div>\n

Computer Lab<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n

\nThis workshop is an introduction to the digital imaging techniques necessary to meet current market demands. Participants learn how to retouch and transform digital photos with Photoshop Lightroom and Photoshop.<\/div>\n
